New and Noteworthy lighting looks for 2023

Perhaps the most exciting trend to emerge at the fall 2022 High Point Market, which closed Oct. 26, was a renewed emphasis on glass.

Glam Glass

Perhaps the most exciting trend to emerge at the fall 2022 High Point Market, which closed Oct. 26, was a renewed emphasis on glass. But we’re not just talking about clear, classic lamp holders. We’re talking about color-infused, wavy, seedy, prismatic and all-around sexy glass, like this chandelier from Henghui Lighting.

Dark smoked glass shines in both 1970s designs (which were all the rage at the time) and more modern looks

Natural Inspiration

Among lighting trends in 2023, nature stays front and center in both form and finish. Woven materials – especially rattan – shine in many collections, especially when mixed with other finishes, added as accents, and shaped into simple, oversized forms.

Gold, Black and White

While color is making its way into interiors in general (and we do see this shining through in lighting), matte black and white and soft gold or brass are still the dominant finishes on fixtures, either alone or in combination.
